NewsThe Twang get the party started at Carling Weekend: Leeds FestivalThe Twang rounded off their summer circuit with a crowd pleasing debut at the Carling Weekend: Leeds Festival this evening (August 26). Taking to the NME/Radio 1 Tent, the Birmingham five-piece were warmly received as they kicked off their show with 'The Neighbour'. The band performed eight tracks from their debut album including hit singles 'Wide Awake' and 'Either Way', which saw the crowd bellow out every word, and forthcoming release 'Two Lovers'. Commenting on the size of his audience, singer Phil Etheridge said: "It means a lot to us for you to come and see us because there's lots of other bands on. "I hope you've had a great weekend because I have, fucking hell! Let's keep this party going." The band closed their boisterous set by firing white ticker tape over the crowd during 'Cloudy Room'. Dave Matthews Band announces summer tour Dave Matthews Band is set to embark on a lengthy US tour, which will kick off the day after they perform the US leg of Live Earth in New Jersey. The band will take a variety of acts on the road, including Toots and the Maytals, Pete Yorn and The Roots. The band will play a handful of shows this month before heading out on a tour of Australia and Europe, which will wrap up in Wembley Arena on May 30. They will perform along with The Police, Bon Jovi, Sheryl Crow and more at the Live Earth concert on July 7 at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The concert is the US leg of a seven-continent, 24-hour event, which will bring together more than 2 billion people worldwide to combat the climate crisis.
